Why hair removal is part of GRS/GCS.
For vaginoplasty and phalloplasty, surgeons build the new structure using skin from areas that naturally grow hair. If those follicles are still active, hair can grow inside after surgery, which can lead to irritation, hygiene problems, and complications that are difficult to correct later. Permanently clearing the donor site beforehand removes that risk for good. Laser can thin hair but cannot confirm a follicle is truly gone, which is why surgical teams ask for electrolysis on the areas that matter most.
